About the Event
My grandmother talks about a time in history when women gathered to look after each other and each other’s children, share stories, ask for guidance and support, and prepared and shared meals. It was a way of life where women connected, created and strengthened bonds.
If you are busy juggling work, home-life and extra curricular activities this is your chance to unwind.
Lets channel the new energy of the summer Solstice to re-energise our commitments to ourselves and our passions.
Join me, and Visual artist & Story-teller Paula Timm, to experience the power and magic of gathering in circle, and creating art.
Together with Paula we will explore the beauty and spirit of sisterhood....a place of safety, sacredness, trust, authenticity, vulnerability, connection, growth and more.

The Circle/space is open to a maximum of 8 ladies & is by invitation only.
WHAT WE'LL DO:

Meet other mamas & their kiddies :)

A group art session with Paula. She will walk us through some exercises and give us space to explore our creativity.

Enjoy the company of other mamas & engage in lively discussions about mamahood, among other things.

Swap simple gifts - each mama goes home with a lovely gift chosen by another mama.
-
We’ll eat delicious, super nutritious foods.
-
And of course, there will be cake, because there is always cake!
INVESTMENT:

$35 per person + cost of childcare (please see childcare info below)

includes art 1 hr art session with Paula, plus food & drink
CHILDCARE

Childcare is provided (please add an additional $5 per child 3 years & older).

Children under 3 will also be watched by childcare provider. However, parents are responsible for feeding/diapering as required. Please confirm # of children attending.

SWAP
Bring a simple gift to swap. Gift should cost no more than $10.00. Please wrap gift (the point is to conceal the gift...fancy wrapping not needed).
GIFT IDEAS: chocolates, gift cards, stationary, lotions/soaps etc.

PARKING:
Street parking...permits not required.
DIETARY REQUIREMENTS:
There will be vegan, gluten free options. Food will be super nourishing & diverse. Please let me know via email/text if you have any further dietary requirements. Thank you!

About Salma
Salma is a wife, mom of 5 and friend to many. She is a creative nomad, an often highly unrealistic dreamer, who is always in search of her next big adventure.
A writer, photographer, and an inquisitive soul, she is always plotting her next project or collaboration.
She believes that staying centered, remaining present, mindful and thankful is key to finding and maintaining balance.
Sharing aspects of her own triumphs and struggles; she has emerged as a skilled creative storyteller, and a successful collaborator.
For Salma, preparing and enjoying seasonal celebrations is the magic behind the (somewhat) mundane everydays of mamahood. Thus, her reasoning for ALWAYS finds things to celebrate, and reasons to meet with friends.

Nomads & Whimsy is every woman's story. It is a story of never truly fitting in, and the search for an authentic self. It is about walking outside of the margins - dancing even - when needed.
Gathering and centering ourselves as women - before all else, is key to being productive and present in our every day lives.
Our events are women-centered, safe spaces, and are curated with a central theme of collaboration, community, and dialogue. On occasion, moms of younger children are invited to bring them along.
Circles
In a fast-paced world things seem to move and shift in ways that we cannot keep up.
I believe that incorporating more kindness, gentleness, love, stillness into our daily life begins with exploring the true nature of agency. I believe these practice of mindful living has a ripple effect that is beyond any other force of nature.
It is my hope that coming together in a non-pretencious, and caring environment, will afford us the much needed room for growth and friendship.
Brunch & Swap
Brunch is a quarterly event crafted with the needs of women in mind.
The event is by invite only. If the idea of sharing a meal with friends, gift swaps, or meeting for an afternoon of learning, and laughter sound enticing, then this gathering is for you.
What's included? A communal meal of delicious diverse foods; lively conversations; and a gift swap highlights our time together. You will love it!
And of course, children are always invited, HOWEVER, please RSVP so that we can accommodate everyone.
